Labor Berlin named innovation champion

Überlingen – Letting go of the old and daring to try something new: innovative SMEs like the Labor Berlin – Charité Vivantes Group are not afraid of change, but see it as an opportunity. This was the company’s convincing performance in the 27th round of the TOP 100 innovation competition. As of June 19, Labor Berlin is officially one of the TOP 100 most innovative companies in the German SME sector for the third time in a row. In the scientific selection process, the company impressed in size category C (more than 200 employees), particularly in the categories “External orientation/open innovation” and “Innovation success”. Labor Berlin – Charité Vivantes Group is among the top innovators for the third time.

The TOP 100 company now analyzes well over 15,000 samples every day. It uses the results to supply the acute clinics of its parent companies as well as specialists in private practice and other hospitals far beyond the city limits. Direct patients can also receive medical diagnostics. The special feature of Labor Berlin is the combination of all diagnostic specialties under one roof and thus a holistic view of subsequent therapies. To demonstrate the precision of the process to laypeople, Managing Director Nina Beikert uses an impressive image: “If you throw a lump of sugar into Lake Constance, we can determine exactly how the sugar content of the entire volume of water changes as a result.”

Many of the doctors employed by the company also work clinically or scientifically and thus support university research. The three-time top innovator also works closely with industrial companies. The Berlin-based medium-sized company with more than 600 employees also generates considerable income from innovations it has initiated itself. The Group’s overriding goal is always to be able to make accurate diagnoses faster and faster in order to help sick people effectively without delay.
