ALM advocates resource-oriented use of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 tests – specialist laboratories have carried out over 400,000 tests since the beginning of March
Berlin, March 24, 2020 – The corona pandemic poses major challenges for the German healthcare system and society. The specialist medical laboratories in particular are working flat out every day – sometimes in three shifts – to cope with the increasing number of requests for tests for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. At yesterday’s press conference at the Federal Ministry of Health, Minister Jens Spahn praised this: “Compared to other countries, we have real added value because we have such large laboratory capacities,” said the Federal Minister of Health. “We still manage a very high number of tests per week.”
